Bobby passed away here at home. I held him tight in my arms as he left us. I am forever heartbroken. Thanks to all of you for your many prayers over the years. He had been “FLOXED,” it took his health over the last 6 years and 2 months. Rest with God, my Love. -Mary Caldwell

Noto per la sua dolce voce soul dagli occhi azzurri il suo più grande successo è il classico “What You Won’t Do for Love”.
È stato anche interpretato da innumerevoli artisti – tra cui Boyz II Men, Snoh Aalegra e Michael Bolton – e Tupac Shakur l’ha ampiamente campionato per la sua canzone “Do For Love”.
Caldwell ha scritto canzoni per artisti del calibro di Neil Diamond, Al Jarreau, Roberta Flack e Boz Scaggs. Ha anche scritto la hit n. 1 del 1986, “The Next Time I Fall” per Amy Grant e Peter Cetera.
